Old fashion butter mints

Old fashion butter mints

These mints are one of my favorite things! They melt in your mouth and are so easy to make, your kids can do it! This is a great holiday treat and can make a great gift to go into your gift baskets this holiday season. These have 5 ingredients. No cooking required and if you don’t like mint, you can add in orange or almond or even lemon!

1 stick butter

4-5 cups powdered sugar

2 Tbsp half and half

1/4 tsp peppermint extract

1/2 tsp vanilla extract.

Food coloring of your choice (optional)

1. Cream your sugar, add in powdered sugar and mix slowly. Add in half and half.

2. add in extracts. You want this to be the consistency of playdoh. You want to beable to handle it but it not be dry and crumbly. If it’s too soft it’s sticking to you, add more powdered sugar. To crumbly add more half and half.

3. add in food coloring.

4. working in batches. Take some out, roll it in a log and use a bench scraper or pizza cutter to cut into small mints. Allow to air dry on parchment paper for a few hours. Store in airtight container.

THATS IT! So easy and yummy.
